Omelette

21 August 2025

Eggs are a great source of protein which is important for growth and can help keep your body and immune system strong. Adding a protein rich food to a meal will also help keep you feeling fuller for longer, which may stop you from reaching for a high sugar snack.

Omelette: serves 1

Ingredients

  • 2 eggs*
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • Filling(s) of your choice e.g. cheese*, mushrooms, spinach, ham*, peppers, onion (you might want to pre-cook any vegetables before adding them, as they won't be in the pan with the egg long enough to cook through)

Method

  1. In a bowl, beat 2 eggs with a fork.
  2. Heat the oil in a frying pan on a medium-high heat.
  3. Add the beaten eggs to the frying pan.
  4. As the egg starts to cook, use a spatula to scrape it away from the edge of the frying pan.
  5. Before the egg cooks completely, add the fillings of your choice.
  6. When there’s no runny egg left and your fillings are warm, your omelette is ready to eat.
