We understand the highs and lows of becoming a parent, and offer support for you during your early parenting journey – from birth to 24 months.
Through a number of programme and sessions, the Medway Universal Parenting Pro-gramme team offer group support, using the Solihull parenting approach, to help you build positive relationships with your baby.
During relaxed and welcoming group sessions, we explore topics that parents with young babies tell us are important to them. For parents/carers needing further advice, we can offer one-to-one emotional well-being support and help to access local services close to you.

Our Medway Universal Parenting Programme provides universal support to all Medway families with babies up to the age of two. This means it is open to anyone who is the parent or carer of a baby under the age of two. All the programmes we offer are free.
We hold two free programmes that we encourage you to come along to –'Understanding your Baby' and 'Understanding your Child'.
Both 6 weeks in length, the course is designed to help you build stronger relationships with your baby. It offers a great place to meet other new parents and share experiences, and includes:
· how to understand you and your baby's feelings
· baby's brain development, communication and cues
· baby's rhythms and developing healthy sleep patterns
· baby's feeding
· baby's play and development.

Following the course, we continue to provide support to parents according to the need and situation: We can offer emotional support and help to access services in your local community.

· Understanding Your Baby 0-6 months Virtual Group – Tuesdays 6:30pm – 8pm (via Zoom)
· Understanding Your Baby 0-6 months – Mondays 10am – 12pm at Twydall Community Centre, Gillingham ME8 6TQ
· Understanding Your Baby 0-6 months – Thursdays 10am – 12pm at Bligh Primary School ME2 2XJ
Drop-in play sessions 'Baby Time' for parents and non-walking babies. An informal play session where you can just turn up, we invite you to come and meet the team, meet other parents in your area and find out more about the courses we offer.
The next sessions are:
· Thursdays from 1pm – 2:30pm September 4th, 11th, 18th & 25th, October 2nd, 9th & 16th at Bligh Primary School ME2 2XJ
· Mondays from 1pm – 2:30pm September 8th, 15th & 29th, October 6th & 13th at Twydall Community Centre, Gillingham ME8 6TQ
